IMPETUOSO AND PEGASO ITALIAN FRIGATES MARCH 2008

Lying between Menorca and Mallorca in waters of 100 metres lie the two Italian Frigates of the Impetuoso and Pegaso.

Sank on the 11th of September 1943 they were the first Italian casulties of the German airforce following the collapse of the treaty between Italy and Germany.

Both vessels lie on their sides and were originally dived in 1998 by an Italian team but have since remained undived.

This March, Simon and Marv will locate and dive both frigates and will return in the April with a team from Deep Impact D.C La Manga.

Depending on the condition of the wrecks there maybe further trips planned for September 2008. If you would like to get further information on the later trips please contact us on expeditions@rebreathertraining.net with current diving qualifications and a breif C.V.

EXPEDITIONS

Expedition work - typically involving deeper, more challenging waters - is, arguably, where rebreathers come into their own as the diving configuration of choice. Allowing for less equipment intensive exploration - particularly when used as part of a mission-format dive team - rebreathers are increasingly becoming the norm for deep, long decompression dives.

With proven expedition management skills, Rebreathertraining can offer the best guidance and instruction on how to approach this type of diving should you require it.
